A state commission of inquiry into the events of October 7 should be established under the Commissions of Inquiry Law, with its members appointed by the President of the Supreme Court.
Eight Shas members voted against the bill to establish a state commission of inquiry in December 2025, and Ya'akov Margi again voted against it in January 2026. By contrast, Yinon Azoulay and Yosef Taieb expressed personal support, but left the question of who would chair the commission to Deri and the parliamentary group. The Knesset votes are later and more uniform, so the party is marked as opposed—even though there is meaningful contrary evidence.
