A state commission of inquiry into the events of October 7 should be established under the Commissions of Inquiry Law, with its members appointed by the President of the Supreme Court.
In December 2025, five UTJ members, including Ya'akov Tessler, voted against the bill. In January 2026, Tessler changed direction and voted in the State Control Committee to establish the commission, contrary to the coalition line. The two documented actions justify an internal-disagreement designation without inventing a uniform position.
