Positions for the 2026 election
Zionist Home–Reservists is a joint list led by Chili Troper and Yoaz Hendel. The registered party through which Troper established it is Yesodot Yisrael. The positions here are based first and foremost on what Troper and Hendel say jointly today. Items that appear only in the Reservists’ platform and have not been expressly adopted by the joint list are presented with a qualification.
The list calls for a state commission of inquiry, but proposes reaching broad agreement on the commission’s membership and has even published a list of possible members. The statement also specifies appointment by the President of the Supreme Court, which the sources do not confirm.
The list’s platform supports changes to the judicial system, but only through broad agreement and a shared public process. It does not say whether judicial review of the government and Knesset should be narrowed.
The Zionist Home–Reservists website explicitly includes a limit of eight years or two terms for a prime minister.
The sources reviewed contained no party document, quotation, or Knesset action that fully establishes a position on the mechanism in the statement: cancelling unequal allocations and moving them into the regular budget, even at the cost of breaching an existing agreement. General criticism of the budget is not sufficient.
The sources reviewed contained no quotation, platform provision, or parliamentary action establishing whether the government may act contrary to the Attorney General’s opinion until a court invalidates the decision. General support for gatekeepers or an independent judiciary is not sufficient to resolve this precise mechanism.
The platform sets out freedom of action and security perimeters, but neither it nor statements by the leadership provide an actual mechanism for a regional–international framework to administer civilian affairs and rebuild Gaza. A security model alone does not answer this question.
The Zionist Home–Reservists platform proposes freedom of action in Gaza on the model used in Judea and Samaria, along with maintaining security zones along the border. This directly supports continuing security control and freedom of action.
In an interview conducted after the joint list was formed, Yoaz Hendel described its policy principles using plural language and said that they would not allow a Palestinian state to be established. Because the statement requires a regional initiative that includes a horizon for a Palestinian state, this is direct and current opposition.
The current platform speaks of ‘sovereignty through action’ and determining control over land in Area C, while Yoaz Hendel previously supported applying Israeli law in Judea and Samaria. The current wording does not amount to a full legislative commitment.
Hendel and the Blue and White tradition point in different directions on integrating women into combat roles, and the new leadership has not yet resolved the issue. There is therefore no clear position.
No direct source for or against renewed civilian settlement in Gaza was found in the Zionist Home–Reservists platform or in recent statements by Yoaz Hendel.
No current platform, leadership interview, or parliamentary action was found that establishes Zionist Home–Reservists’ position on the death penalty for a person convicted of murder in an act of terrorism.
When launching the joint framework, Troper and Hendel committed to building a political home in which everyone serves, jointly adopting the principle of universal service already found in the Reservists’ platform.
The Zionist Home–Reservists platform sets out a series of personal, financial, and civil sanctions for failure to serve without an exemption.
Yoaz Hendel called for a civil alternative for people who cannot marry through the Chief Rabbinate. The statement dates from 2021, and the proposed alternative may be narrower than civil marriage for everyone.
No sufficiently direct public source was found establishing where Zionist Home–Reservists (Troper–Hendel) stands on allowing religious courts to arbitrate civil disputes with the parties’ free consent.
Yoaz Hendel supported public transport on Shabbat in cities that choose to provide it. The statement is explicit, but dates from 2021.
Yoaz Hendel supported encouraging core-curriculum studies, but no current provision in the Zionist Home–Reservists platform was found expressly denying public funding to an institution that does not teach a minimum core curriculum.
Neither the list’s platform nor statements by its leadership contain a position on whether equality and the prohibition of discrimination should be enshrined in a Basic Law.
In their joint announcement, Troper and Hendel set the goal of a broad Zionist government without Arab parties. This is an explicit and current line of the list, and it conflicts with the statement.
The Zionist Home–Reservists platform does not include a mechanism for raising taxes on high-income earners to fund social services.
The platform supports competition and a free market, but does not address food-price controls. A general economic orientation is not sufficient to establish that the list opposes them.
No mechanism for tariffs on agricultural food imports, or position on potential harm to farmers, was found in the Zionist Home–Reservists platform.
The Reservists’ platform included a position on daycare-subsidy eligibility tests, but no current joint endorsement of the precise mechanism by the Zionist Home–Reservists list was found.

Yoaz Hendel said that the restrictive Citizenship and Entry into Israel Law had to pass. The statement is direct, but dates from 2021.
Yoaz Hendel voted for the proposed ban in 2020. No current provision was found in the Zionist Home–Reservists platform.
The Reservists component’s governance plan explicitly combines local police forces under local authorities with a dedicated Shin Bet unit for preventing crime in Arab society. A live interview with Hendel confirms that both tracks were presented together. Because it does not prioritize a civilian, locally led program over reliance on the Shin Bet, a neutral position is more accurate than support. Confidence is medium because the plan predates the full alliance with Troper.
No provision establishing a position on congestion charging in the Tel Aviv metropolitan area was found in the Zionist Home–Reservists platform.
